Legal Basis for Processing

Personal data is processed on the basis of:

  • Article 6(1)(e) GDPR – processing necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest (higher education and research missions).

  • Where applicable, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR – consent for participation in research activities.

Categories of Data Collected

We collect:

  • Identity data (surname, first name, gender, age, student number, country of origin)

  • Contact details (email address)

  • Educational data (studies followed, academic results)

  • Game interaction data and responses

Purpose of Processing

Data is processed for:

  • Management of participation in the serious game

  • Evaluation of skills and scoring

  • Validation of open badges

  • Academic research purposes (data anonymised prior to research use)

No commercial exploitation is carried out.

Data Sharing

Personal data may be shared with institutional partners involved in the project (IDEX partners) strictly for research and academic collaboration purposes.

Data shared for research collaboration is anonymised prior to transfer.

Where required, data processing agreements are concluded with partners.

Data Retention

Personal data is retained for a maximum period of 10 years in accordance with institutional archiving and research obligations.

Anonymised research data may be retained beyond this period.
